When I heard that Mister Fitz, Brisbane’s beloved Ice cream sandwich parlour and Doughnut time were opening pop up stores in Sydney’s City Myer, I rushed to check it out. What could be better than ice cream and doughnuts? An ice skating rink, that’s what! From now until July 16, Myer is transforming their Level 6 into a Winter wonderland to make all your childhood dreams come true!
From Mr Fitz, we got the 24 carat magic ice cream doughnut, with slim shady doughnut, milk and cookies ice cream and unicorn crumb. This was so decadent and rich, the unicorn crumb was nice and crunchy and went well with the glazed doughnut.
From Doughnut time, we got the Its Always a Gay Time and Ferrero No Share Doughnuts to take away for later. The Golden Gaytime is my favourite flavour with milk chocolate glaze, crushed biscuits, golden caramelised crepes filled with honeycomb custard.
However the Ferrero No Share with dark chocolate glaze, roasted hazelnuts topped with a Ferrero Rocher was also delicious and full of rich chocolate and hazelnut flavour.
Overall, the Winter Wonderland is a great place for a day out with friends or family for some old school nostalgia and winter fun!
