Bibelot is a dessert parlour in South Melbourne that specialises in a range of delicate cakes and tarts, macarons and chocolate bon bons and artisan creations. We had heard great things about this place, whose desserts are stocked by Chez Dre and Calia, so were keen to check it out.
We ordered the gourmandise dessert platter which contains miniature version of their most famous cakes, perfect for when you want to try everything! The platter contained the mango, yuzu and coconut dome, the hazelnut praline crunch, the triple chocolate cheesecake, the passionfruit stone, green tea mandarin dome, a blackcurrant macaron, a bon bon and two chocolate cookies. My favourite was the green tea mandarin dome and the mango, yuzu and coconut dome, the citrus flavours added a sharp texture to the desserts, though everything tasted delicious.
We would definitely come back and try some of their full size tarts and ice cream, they have the flavours up on a board and even have a chocolate tap! See below for more pictures of the place. Located across the road from South Melbourne market, it’s definitely worth a leisurely weekend trip!
