Kazbah is a chain restaurant that serves great authentic Middle Eastern food. We visited the one in Darling Harbour for dinner one night with a friend, wanting to try their exotic dishes.
We ordered three dishes to share including two shish kebab swords. The first one was the harissa marmalade beef with Moroccan eggplant and potato hara. This was delicious, the beef was nicely marinated and the eggplant was tender and full of flavour.
The second shish kebab we ordered was the pork belly with spinach and potato hara. I also enjoyed this, the pork belly was so rich and fatty and went well with the spinach and roasted potato. The servings were large and we could barely finish the dishes and I also enjoyed the Middle Eastern spices infused throughout.
The third dish we tried was the lamb shank tagine with carrot steamed couscous, baby carrots, potatoes and kidney beans. This was an interesting dish, the lamb was cooked well and while I am not usually a huge fan of couscous, I enjoyed the flavours of this one when combined with the creamy soup of the tagine.
Overall, Kazbah is a great Middle Eastern restaurant that serves up high quality and authentic dishes with a view of Darling Harbour. Definitely one of the more exotic places we have visited and we enjoyed it!
