Ribs and Rumps is a steakhouse diner chain famous for their high quality ribs and steaks in a casual dining atmosphere. We visited the Macquarie Park location for a casual dinner one weekday evening.
We ordered the beef ribs and roasted chicken combo with mash potato and coleslaw to share. This was a delicious dish and very generously portioned, the ribs were full of flavour and fell off the bone easily while the chicken had an addictive honey soy glaze and was so tender and juicy. The potato mash was so light and creamy while the coleslaw added crunch on the side to keep things interesting.
We were seriously craving sweets that night, so decided to order three desserts to share. The first dessert we ordered was the sticky date pudding; house made pudding served hot with butterscotch sauce, vanilla ice-cream and mint. This was another good dessert, I love how it was served fresh and hot with rich butterscotch sauce, contrasted by the cooling and creamy vanilla ice cream and refreshing mint.
Next we got the New York cheese cake; traditionally prepared, creamy baked Cheesecake on a biscuit crumb base served with fresh strawberries and cream amongst berry coulis. I absolutely loved the different flavours and textures and how creamy the cheesecake was, nicely complemented by the crunchy biscuit base and the tartness of the fresh strawberries and berry coulis.
Our last dessert was the salted caramel creme brulee with sweet shortbread. This was a great dessert, I really enjoyed the salted caramel flavour, with the creamy centre nicely contrasted by the crisp toffee top.
Overall, Ribs and Rumps is a great place for dinner with the whole family, it serves a huge range of hearty ribs, steaks, burgers, salads and desserts in a nice relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely recommend all meat lovers pay a visit!
