Anita Gelato is a ice cream and gelato parlour in Central Park in Chippendale. Anita’s boutique ice creams are 100% hand-made from natural ingredients and there is a huge variety of frozen yogurt, sorbets, and organic and real cream-based ice creams on offer. There is plenty of room to eat inside so we decided to dine in and slowly enjoy our ice creams.
We came here for an afternoon treat in summer one day and the hardest part was deciding which flavours to choose. Luckily, we were allowed to try as many as we wanted and I made my way through half a dozen before finally settling on the the Cookieman and salted caramel with white chocolate ice creams.
The Cookieman is their signature flavour, and includes an addictive mix of chocolate, hazelnut, meringue and biscuits, I really enjoyed the generous chunks of cookie in the vanilla ice cream, while the chocolate was so decadent and rich, nicely accompanied by the crunchy meringue and hazelnuts . The salted caramel and white chocolate was a lighter flavour and I really enjoyed the slight saltiness, well balanced out by the sweet white chocolate.
There are also many toppings for the frozen yoghurts including fresh fruit, syrups, lollies, premium chocolate, and in particular, the jams, that still come straight from Mama Anita’s own kitchen. And the best part is, it’s unlimited so you can add all the toppings you want and eat to your heart’s desire!
Overall, we would definitely come back to Anita to try some of their fruit based gelatos and frozen yoghurt. We enjoyed the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of this boutique ice cream parlour!
