Manpuku is a Japanese restaurant with stores in Kingsford and Chatswood. They are famous for their ramen and have an extensive ramen menu that could satisfy any noodle lover. We went to the Chatswood branch for dinner and will share our experience in this post.
We ordered two of the Tonkotsu Shoyu ramen which was with soy based pork soup. This contained pork belly, pak choi, mushroom, shallots, sesame and seaweed. This was a great noodle dish, the pork broth is much richer and creamier than the chicken broth and the pork belly was perfectly cooked and tender. The soup was also not too salty.
We also ordered the Kono Deaini ramen which is their signature and consists of soy based pork and chicken soup and contained pork belly, bean sprouts, bamboo shoot, shallots, seaweed, Nitamago egg. I also really enjoyed this, the mix of chicken and pork soup meant that it was slightly more sheer and lighter than the pure pork soup and I also enjoyed the additions of the bamboo shoot and soft boiled egg, which was perfectly undercooked. I did find the soup a little too salty though and had to drink a lot of water afterwards.
We also ordered a side of their steamed vegetables with pak choy, corn, bean sprouts and sesame which was nicely accompanied by a creamy sesame sauce that was delicious.
Overall, Manpuku is a great ramen restaurant in Sydney that specialises in serving high quality ramen at affordable prices. Would recommend for lovers of Japanese food!
