Tinker Northcote is opened by the same team behind Penta, Mob and Bentwood and is known for their creative and delicious brunch food. We came here for lunch one weekend, eager to try out their dishes.
To start off we ordered the F75 cocktail with gin, elderflower, lemon juice and sparkling wine and the Cold brew. It is never too early to have a cheeky drink and these were delicious, not too sweet and very refreshing.
Next we ordered three dishes to share. The first was the mango and saffron Panna cotta with vanilla, almond and cranberry granola with strawberries, passion fruit, raspberry and coconut. I loved how light and creamy the panna cotta was, nicely contrasted by the crunchy granola! The fruits also added a nice tart flavour to the otherwise quite light sweet dish.
We also ordered the Wake up bowl with Acai, granola, coconut infused yoghurt, peanut butter, banana, strawberries, kiwi, chia seeds, hazelnut and bees pollen. This is one of the famous acai bowls on the Melbourne brunch scene and it’s not hard to see why, the ingredients were all so fresh and high quality and it was delicious and nutritious!
Finally we ordered the Sriracha baked salmon with raw noodles, edamame, avocado, herb dressing and fried basil. This was a great savoury dish, the raw noodles were healthy and the salmon definitely had that sriracha kick, with the herb dressing adding good flavour.
Overall, Tinker is a great cafe that has an extensive menu with good sweet and savoury brunch options. Definitely try it out if you are in the area, the team have done well with this cafe!
