Din Tai Fung: Taiwanese dumpling house

Din Tai Fung is a Taiwanese chain that serves a range of popular Chinese dumpling, rice and noodle dishes. I am a huge of this restaurant and we came here for dinner one night, keen to dig into the dishes.

To start off with, we ordered the signature Xiao Long Bao. This was well cooked, it came out hot and the skin was nice and thin and when you bite into the dumpling, the soup oozed out and the meat was delicious.

For our mains we ordered the Taiwanese style diced black pepper steak with onion and capsicum. This was a great dish, the steak was nice and tender and the sauce went well with the rice.

Speaking of rice, we ordered their Vegetarian truffle and mushroom fried rice. This was one of my favourite fried rice dishes ever, the truffle was nice and intense and the mushroom added great flavour.

For our vegetables we ordered the Spinach with garlic which came in a generous serving size.

Finally, for my drink I ordered the Thai Milk Tea which was nice and refreshing, finished off with a scoop of whipped cream on top.

Overall, Din Tai Fung is the perfect place to go for a casual meal with family and friends. The chain is always so busy so be sure to allow time to line up on weekends. The food is slightly pricier than its competitors but the extensive menu will definitely please everyone at the table.
