Pasta Pantry is a chain of specialty pasta stores located in food courts in Sydney. They are known for their gourmet pastas, sandwiches and salads, made to order and pre-made. We decided to check out the Bondi Junction store for lunch one day, keen for a gourmet Friday long lunch.
For my drink, I ordered a Chai latte. I really enjoyed this as it had good cinnamon flavour and was not too sweet.
Next I ordered the Beef lasagne- Layers of freshly made egg pasta sealing in the richness of Bolognese and Béchamel sauces topped with freshly grated mozzarella cheese with a side of roasted potatoes. I loved this lasagne, the Bolognese sauce was so nice and rich and there was lots of mince and cheese between the layers.
Next we ordered the Chorizo pesto- Farfalle (bowtie pasta) mixed with fresh basil and cashew nut pesto, chorizo, sun dried tomato and fresh baby spinach. I loved this pasta too, the pesto flavour was nice and strong and the mix of sun dried tomato went very well with the chorizo.
Finally, we decided to try a made to order fresh pasta. For the pasta, I chose spaghetti, for the sauce I chose carbonara and for the meat I chose Chicken with bacon, parmesan and black pepper. This was so rich and creamy, I loved the generous servings of chicken and the pepper added a nice spice.
Overall, Pasta Pantry is my go to place for restaurant quality pasta at food court prices. I love how the pasta is made fresh on the spot and there is a variety of choices with sides and drinks. Definitely would recommend, they have many chains around Sydney so it makes for the perfect lunch!
