Royal Cricketers Arms: A modern pub affair

The Royal Cricketers Arms is a pub situated in Blacktown, right next to Atura hotel. It recently launched its new menu featuring modern pub food and we came here to try it out at their launch party.

To get started we were offered some Aperol spritz and Sparkling wine. Nothing accompanies good food like some alcohol so we were delighted to enjoy these drinks.

We then moved onto the food which was a series of canapes which showcase items on their menu. We tried Pumpkin and baby spinach salad, I loved this because it was fresh and healthy and the dressing pulled it together.

Next we tried the seared Tuna, couscous and broccolini salad. This was one of my favourite dishes, the tuna was seared to perfection and the couscous had good flavour.

Next we tried their Famous London pie with slow cooked beef and mushroom ragout, mash, golden butter puff pastry, and spring minted peas. I loved this dish too, it was creatively presented and the beef was so tender, while the mash was nice and creamy and the pastry was crispy.

We also tried the Poke with salmon sashimi, avocado, edamame and brown rice with seaweed. I am a huge fan of poke and this dish did not disappoint, the salmon was so fresh and the avocado and seaweed was nice and fresh.

After this we tried their classic Chicken parmigiana and chips. I loved how crispy the fried chicken was, tender on the inside.

Lastly we tried the Beef and bacon sliders, the patty was tender and juicy and the sauce was delicious, pulling it all together.

We were also lucky enough to be treated to a grazing table with a chocolate fountain, cakes, cheese and crackers.

I would definitely recommend this pub for anyone in the area who wants a nice casual meal with family and friends. The atmosphere is lovely and warm and the produce is fresh, it’s the perfect local pub!

Love at First Bite dined as guests of RCA. All opinions are my own.
