I’m Angus is a restaurant part of Nick’s Group located in Cockle Bay Wharf in Darling Harbour that is famous for their high quality wagyu steaks. They have the perfect view of the harbour so we decided to come and dine here for dinner one warm summer night.
To start we ordered some cocktails, we ordered their Watermelon Warhead with vodka, watermelon liqueur and Cosmos with vodka, cointreau and cranberry juice. Both were sweet and refreshing, perfect for summer.
We then ordered two entrees, the first was the Grilled calamari watercress salad. This was nice and simple and the calamari was high quality and fresh.
The second was Alaskan King crab and avocado salad with grapefruit aioli. I loved the smooth and creamy texture of the crab and the grapefruit aioli had an interesting flavour.
Then we moved onto the mains. We went for the wagyu steaks for which I’m Angus is famous for. Tajima Wagyu is fed a specially formulated Japanese diet for a minimum of 400 days to produce Wagyu with excellent meat eating qualities and a large eye muscle and superior marbling. We got the Wagyu flat iron MBS 6 with bearnaise sauce with mash. This was so tender and juicy and cooked well medium rare.
The second was the Wagyu tenderloin MBS 6 with mushroom sauce with mash. This was thicker than the flat iron but just as high quality, the meat was so soft and tender and had great flavour.
For dessert we ended with the Raspberry creme brulee with almond biscotti. The tart flavour of the fruit cut through the sweet creme brulee and the almond biscotti was nice and crunchy. The second dessert was the Ice cream sundae with praline ice cream, chocolate sauce and nut brittle. I loved this too, the praline ice cream was smooth and creamy while the nut brittle added a nice crunch.
Overall, I’m Angus is the perfect restaurant by Cockle Bay Wharf, offering high quality dishes in an extensive menu and lovely ambiance. Would recommend for anyone who loves steak and meat!
