Girdlers is a wholefoods cafe in Manly, a short walk from the beach. There are also stores in Dee Why and Warringah Mall, reflecting the health conscious lifestyle of people in the Northern Beaches. We heard great things about this place so came here to check it out one day for brunch.
For our drinks we ordered the Berries and superseeds smoothie to start. This was delicious, packed with ingredients and not too sweet.
We then ordered two lattes, the Mermaid latte with sea minerals and manuka honey and the Velvet latte with beetroot chai and coconut milk. I loved both drinks, the latte art was so cute and the drink itself was not too sweet and had a nice chai flavour.
For our dishes we ordered a few to share. The first was the Mermaid bowl with blue spirulina superfood blend, pineapple, coconut yoghurt, banana, chia seeds and almond milk topped with banana, granola, hemp seeds, blueberries and coconut flakes. This was a great smoothie bowl, it was nice and thick, perfect for a healthy breakfast and I enjoyed the nuts that gave a nice crunch.
Next we ordered the Cauliflower rice shakshuka, poached eggs on top of Nourishing Cauliflower rice with roasted tomato and bell pepper sauce, topped with fresh herbs and goats feta with rye sourdough. This was a great winter breakfast, the cauliflower rice had good flavour and I enjoyed the rich tomato sauce, going perfectly with the eggs and bread.
Lastly we ordered the Goodness bowl with grilled chicken, kale, quinoa tabbouleh, boiled egg, avocado, grilled halloumi, organic purple kraut and green goddess dressing. I loved the variety of ingredients in this bowl, the chicken and halloumi also added nice protein while the greens made it so healthy.
Overall, Girdlers is one of my favourite cafes in Manly. Not only is the food healthy, it is also beautifully presented and delicious. The staff are so friendly and relaxed, the vibe is definitely perfect for lazy days by the beach.
Love at First Bite dined as guests of Girdlers and CPM. All opinions are my own.
