Din Tai Fung is a Taiwanese restaurant chain specialising in dumplings as well as other rice and noodle dishes. I love Chinese food and have lots of good memories growing up eating meals with my family so am always happy to visit for a good feed. My friend and I dropped by the World Square one for lunch one day.
We ordered a range of dumpling dishes including the Spicy shrimp and pork wonton, Pork dumpling xiao long bao, Shrimp and pork dumpling, Pork and shrimp Shao mai and Seafood dumpling. All dumplings had good fillings and the outside pastry was thin and soft, the juice in the dumplings also burst in my mouth, full of flavour.
Next we ordered the beef noodles, the beef here was nice and tender and I enjoyed the rich sauce, which added a spicy kick.
We then ordered a vegetable dish, the Green bean with minced pork. This was nice and healthy, the mince added good flavour and the beans were crunchy.
Next we tried the Shrimp and pork wonton, the hot soup was delicious and the wonton skin was nice and thin
We also tried the vegetarian fried rice with truffle, I loved the ingredients here as well, the rice was cooked well and accompanied the other dishes.
To finish we ordered the Chocolate lava mini bun, salted egg yolk bun, black sesame bun and Taro dumplings. These were so good hot, the rich chocolate just oozed out and the taro in the dumplings was creamy and not too sweet.
Overall, Din Tai Fung is one of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Sydney, the menu is extensive and the food is authentic and delicious. It is good value for what you get and perfect for sharing!
Love at First Bite dined as a guest of the establishment and / or their representatives. All opinions are my own.
