Cafe Neptunes is a newly renovated Modern Australian restaurant by Brighton beach that serves Modern Australian cuisine including a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. The ambiance of the place is open and fresh, fitting as its right across the beach, its the perfect place to visit on a summers day. We came here for the launch and tried a range of their dishes.
We started off with some drinks, there was some killer passionfruit cocktails and negronis.
We tried their Salt and pepper calamari lightly coated in falafel crumbs with preserved lemon aioli. I loved how crunchy this was, the seasoning was perfect and the lemon added a nice zestiness.
Next was the Four cheese arancini with tomato sugo. I love arancini balls and this was no different, the cheese was rich and decadent and the tomato sauce added a nice flavour.
We also tried the Stuffed zucchini flowers with lemon zested ricotta and summer herbs. I loved how this was lightly crumbed and the ricotta was nice and creamy, going perfectly inside the dish
We also tried the Oyster pillows tempura with yoghurt and yarra valley caviar. This was definitely a luxury dish, the oyster was so fresh and the caviar was the icing on top.
Next we tried the Wagyu beef bolognese fettucine with mozzarella, fresh basil and olive oil. This was delicious, the sauce was rich and the flavours of the beef and cheese came together nicely, such a great pasta dish.
We also tried the Black angus beef sliders with baby cos, heirloom tomato, beetroot relish and aioli. The patty was cooked medium rare to perfection and the lettuce and tomato added a good crunch, while the sauce was the perfect accompaniment.
We also tried their lightly marinated Chicken and beef skewers, the meat was cooked well so it was tender and juicy and good on its own, it didnt even really need sauce!
Overall, Cafe Neptunes is a great place to have any meal of the day at, right by Brighton Beach, it offers great views and ambiance and an extensive menu definitely worth trying!
Love at First Bite dined as a guest of the establishment and / or their representatives. All opinions are my own.
