Frappe Cafe is a new restaurant that has opened up in Concord with the most beautiful display of dishes you will ever see. The food is plated to perfection and tastes delicous too so we could not wait to check it out for brunch one day.
To start we tried their signature Red velvet hotcake with Canadian maple syrup, wild berries, coconut mascarpone, strawberries, crispy coconut, pomegranate and roasted almond flakes served with red velvet magnum. The flavours here all came together well, the hotcake was thick and bouncy and the maple syrup was nicely contrasted by the fresh fruit and creamy mascarpone.
Next we tried the French toast with coco pop flakes crumble then dazzled with blossom peach honey, seasonal fruits, velvet coconut yoghurt and dulce le leche magnum. I loved the coco pop flakes crumble here, and the tartness of the fruit cut through the sweet dulce le leche.
We then tried some savoury dishes, the first was the Haloumi stack with woodfire smoking guns bagel with sun dried tomato smash, portobello mushroom, avocado, asparagus, poached eggs, harissa with sprinkles of dukkah. I loved the creamy haloumi here, it was nicely accompanied by the vegetables with the flavours all brought together by the harissa and dukkah.
Next we tried the Smashed avo with chunky avo, greek yoghurt, spicy chickpeas with a splash of tagging salsa on sourdough toast. Who knew a simple dish could look so good? The spicy chickpeas definitely added a kick to the flavour.
We also tried their Grilled chicken burger with lettuce, tomato, chipotle aioli, jalapeno, swiss cheese and chips. The chicken here was juicy and tender and the chipotle added some nice spiciness, while the chips were nice and crunchy.
Lastly we tried another beautiful dish, the Smoking gun woodfire bagels with smoked salmon, jalapeno cream cheese, capers and courgette and avo smash with persian feta crumble and figs. They are famous for their bagels here and this did not disappoint, the plating was amazing and the flavours all came together nicely, including the sauces.
Overall, Frappe is a great new restaurant in concord that does breakfast, lunch and dinner so there is really no excuse not to try it out! A feast for your eyes and your taste buds.
Love at First Bite dined as a guest of the establishment and / or their representatives. All opinions are my own.
