Jozo is a hidden cafe in Paddington that has both a great outside and inside area for dining as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. We came here for brunch one day, keen to try it out.
We ordered a range of drinks as well as pastries and sides. The first dish was the Acai bircher bowl with seasonal fruits, toasted coconut, almond flake and chia seeds. This was such a bright and fresh dish, the fruits and acai went really well with the crunchy nuts and seeds on top.
Next we tried the Jazzy tassie with house cured salmon, poached egg, smashed avocado and edamame on rustic sourdough. This was a great dish, the salmon was nice and fresh and the avo was creamy, contrasted by the crunchy sourdough.
After this was the Jozo dojo with sauteed mushroom double smoked ham, spinach and almond pesto, 2 fried eggs, caramelised beetroot on linseed bread. This was one of my favourites, the mushrooms were sauteed to perfection and the pesto had great flavour.
We also tried the Breaky wakey with scrambled egg, herb grilled tomato, purple kale, roasted japanese pumpkin, parmesan crisps, aged balsamic glaze. This was a great vegetarian dsih, the kale and roasted pumpkin went well together, it was simple but healthy.
After this we tried Burrata + chickpeas with sauteed mushrooms, herb grilled tomato, spiced chickpeas and roasted nori on sourdough bread. I am a huge fan of burrata and this did not disappoint, the mushrooms and spiced chickpeas added good flavour and texture to the dish.
We also tried two dishes off the lunch menu, the first was my favourite, the Brown rice poke bowl with seaweed, radish, edamame, cucumber and avocado and salmon. Everything here was so fresh and tasty, the salmon was seared to perfection and the sauce on the brown rice brought everything together.
We also had the Pork and fennel linguine with garlic, a simple but great pasta dish where the flavours of the pork and fennel came together nicely.
Overall, Jozo is a great cafe that as an extensive menu full of great dishes and drinks. Their outside courtyard area is also really cute, definitely worth a try if you are in the area!
Love at First Bite dined as a guest of the establishment and / or their representatives. All opinions are my own.
