Call Me Harris is an outdoor café located by the pier in Pyrmont. It is a hidden gem, tucked away right by the water and its perfect for lazy brunches on long summer days. I made the most of the warmer weather and came here for brunch with some friends.
We started with a Selection of sodas, iced teas and juices. The drinks here are beautifully presented and refreshing.
We started with some sweet dishes, the first was the ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote, vanilla ricotta and organic maple. I loved the light ricotta here, nicely balanced by the fresh fruit and the pancakes were nice and fluffy.
Next was the House granola with fresh fruit and coconut yoghurt. This was a simple and healthy dish, it was only sweetened by the fresh fruit and the granola was nice and crunchy.
Next we the Avocado brioche with cherry tomato salsa, feta and pomegranate dressing and a side of bacon. I loved the generous avocado spread on the bread and the salsa was really refreshing with some sweetness from the pomegranate while the bacon was nice and crispy.
Next we got the old school burger with beef patty, beetroot, tomato, bacon, egg, pineapple and bbq sauce with rustic chips. This was a mighty burger, I loved the thick juicy patty and the bacon and egg made this very decadent while the pineapple added a nice sweet flavour. Their thick cut chips are also delicious and the truffle mayo is to die for.
We also ordered the Shakshuka baked eggs with cucumber and tomato salad, labne, tahini and hummus, olives and baked challah bread. I loved the rich tomato sauce here and the different dips went perfectly with the freshly baked bread.
Next we tried the Zoodles zucchini noodles with rocket pesto, tomato, olives and roasted garlic oil. This was a very healthy dish, the zucchini noodles were nice and crunchy and I loved the pesto sauce.
We also tried the Poke bowl with black rice, beetroot, cucumber, edamame beans, avocado, radish, roasted coconut and sesame dressing with smoked salmon. This was another healthy dish, the avocado and salmon was a winning combo and I enjoyed the dressing and edamame beans.
Overall, Call Me Harris is an underrated cafe that has a unique menu and great ambiance by the water. Definitely try out if you are in the area!
