Cafe 0.6 is an Asian fusion cafe in Alexandria with cute pastel decor and creative dishes and drinks. Alexandria has many great places to brunch that dont require a one hour wait so I decided to check this out one weekend.
They recently released their cocktail range because its never too early to start drinking on weekends!
We tried the I love you matcha with matcha soda and vodka, the Snow white with lychee, gin and tonic and The dark age with blackcurrant, mint, soda and tequila. My favourite was the snow white, it was sweet and refreshing, while the matcha was very concentrated while the dark age was slightly more tart.
We then ordered a range of dishes to share. The first was the centrepiece inspired by okonomiyaki with homemade salsa, red ginger, shallots, egg yolk and bacon. This was a great dish, the texture was delicious and I loved the home made salsa mixed with in the egg yolk and bacon.
Next was the Pop da prawns with lightly battered prawns with secret sauce, fresh avocado and crunch on croissant. Whatever that secret sauce is, I definitely want a recipe because this another great dish. The prawns were nice and crunchy and I loved the fresh avo and buttery croissant.
Next was the Cut the crab with soft shell crab, cucumber, avocado, home made peanut sauce in rice paper roll with butterfly pea infused cauliflower puree. This was the lightest dish, it was full of greens and very nice and fresh and I enjoyed the crunch of the soft shell crab.
We also tried the Flying fish pan grilled salmon fillet cooked medium in home made sauce tobiko bedded with blue puree, soba and salad. The salmon fillet was marinated and grilled to perfection and I loved the blue cauliflower puree which was a very interesting sauce and the cool soba noodles.
We finished off with some dessert, the High on matcha with home baked matcha cake served with matcha ice cream, black sesame paste, seasonal fruits, granola and matcha sauce. The matcha sauce here was very rich and authentic and I loved the crunch of the granola and the seasonal fruits.
Love at First Bite dined as a guest of the establishment and / or their representatives. All opinions are my own.
