The Font Cafe is a new modern vegetarian cafe in Chippendale that delicious and healthy vegetarian breakfast and lunches. I am not usually a fan of vegetarian food but heard good things about this place so decided to visit it with some friends.
We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, the first was the Boom Shaka Laksa with Vegetarian soy prawn bean curd fried tofu puff, Bean sprout, seasonal vegetables, enoki mushroom, peanut, deep fried shallot and vermicelli. This is my favourite dish off their new menu, the laksa sauce was delicious and rich and the flavours all complement each other nicely.
Next we tried the I’m from Peking sandwich with Vegetarian soy duck, deep fried tofu, lettuce, homemade mayo and homemade Peking duck sauce. This was a healthy sandwich, I loved the tofu and the delicious sauce that brought it all together.
We also tried the PTC Festival with Baked potato, baked tomato, basil pesto, mushroom, beetroot, mayo, rocket, balsamic garlic ,mushroom cream and corn fritter. This was another beautiful dish, I loved the baked potato and basil pesto combo and the fresh veggies in this make it very nutritious.
The last savoury was The crescent with Char grilled eggplant, hash brown, grain salad, sweet potato, hummus and corn chips. I loved the flavour of the char grilled eggplant and the hash brown was nice and crispy.
To finish we tried two desserts. The first was the Pan-a- fresh, Homemade pannacotta with muesli, coconut chip and seasonal fruits. This was a simple but great dessert, the panna was so light and cream and I loved the crunch of the muesli.
Next was the Made in the font, their signature Homemade orange lemon pancakes with rainbow Icecream, strawberry syrup and whipped cream. This was another great dessert, the pancakes were nice and zesty and I loved the fresh fruit.
Overall, the Font Cafe is my favourite vegetarian cafe in Sydney, not only are the dishes beautiful, they are also healthy and tasty, so much so that sometimes you can’t even tell they are vegetarian!
Love at First Bite dined as a guest of the establishment and / or their representatives. All opinions are my own.
