Vapiano is an Italian restaurant located in the city that does a range of pizza, pasta and risotto dishes. You order the dish that you want from the menu and then you line up and watch them cook it for you.
To start we ordered the Antipasti with toasted ciabatta, selection of meats, parmesan, buffalo mozzarella, mixed olives, sun dried tomatoes, pesto basilico, bruschetta. This was a great board with lots of variety. I loved the prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella, while the bruschetta was nice and fresh.
Next we ordered the Ravioli with bolognese filling, onions, carrots, spring onions, cherry tomatoes in light tomato cream sauce. This was cooked al dente and delicious, the sauce was nice and rich and I enjoyed the filling.
We also tried the Pumpkin soup with croutons off their new winter menu. This was so nice and creamy, perfect for a cold winters day.
Next we ordered the Truffle oil pizza with aussie smoked ham, mushrooms, cream, mozzerella, parmesan and rocket. I dont think the truffle flavour was strong on this one, but it had generous toppings of ham and mushrooms and cheese.
For dessert we tried the Nutella fondue with strawberries, brownie bites and marshmellow. This was another item off the winter menu and the perfect dessert, the fresh strawberries went perfectly with the rich fondue.
We also tried the simple but delicious Tim tam smash, I loved the rich creamy layers, it tasted like a cheesecake with tim tam on top.
Overall, Vapiano is a great Italian restaurant suitable for casual lunches in the Sydney CBD. Would definitely recommend for anyone who loves Italian food!
Love at First Bite dined as guests of Vapiano. All opinions are my own.
